Online training is still available to help health and care professionals in ABUHB have more effective conversations with patients and clients about improving their health and wellbeing.
The ‘Making Every Contact Count’ MECC e-learning module can be accessed via ESR by searching: ‘000 NHS Wales – Make Every Contact Count – English/Welsh Version’.
The module helps professionals build health behaviour change conversations into their day-to-day work.
Almost half the burden of disease in Wales is linked with smoking, drinking too much alcohol, poor diet, physical inactivity, and being overweight.
MECC can support health professionals and those working in partner organisations to make the most of the conversations they have every day.
After undertaking a short online training module, professionals will be able to offer brief, opportunistic health behaviour advice to encourage people to improve their health and wellbeing, if they wish to do so.
